This flat plate can be used on any vw that has a flat dash with the space to accommodate this size of flat plate, it is larger than our current Euro plate. This plate is based on the design and dimensions of the faceplates found on mid to late 60's Blaupunkt Dortmund & Frankfurt radios and typically this plate was seen installed in Type 3 VW's, 1500/1600 & Karmann Ghia in the 62-64 year range, perfect for any flat dash application where you have a lot of dash real estate or need to cover up one of those pesky DIN holes
